• The first Perpetual Calendar in a wristwatch was produced by Patek Philippe in 1889
• To this day, Patek makes only a small number of Grand Complication watches in any given year, owing to the lengthy time required to create them
• This ref. 3940J offers a combination of technical prowess and luxuriousness, being crafted in 18K yellow gold
• The 3940 was introduced in 1985 and remained in production until 2007
• The movement within, the calibre 240 Q, was engineered to be thin while capturing the spirit of 1980s Patek
• Because of the thin movement, the watch measures only 8.8mm thick and 36mm in diameter, making for an optimum wearing experience
• It is estimated that Patek Philippe only produced approximately 7000 examples until the end of its production in 2007
