The Portuguese is an integral part of IWC’s catalogue, with an enduring design that’s remained relatively unchanged since it’s introduction in the late 1930s. With its large 40mm+ case width, slimline proportions, and minimal bezel, this watch is almost all dial on the wrist. As chronographs go, this Portuguese is a remarkably elegant example favouring a minimalist type approach to the classic complication.The IW371417 reference turns up the sophistication even further thanks to its heat-blued dial features including the raised hour markers, poised leaf hands and simplistic sub-dial hands. The end result is a mechanical chronograph that offers a desirable blend of elegance and usability.

This 2011 example of the Portuguese shows light signs of wear with no major visual scratches to note. The watch is fitted to a black IWC leather strap with an official IWC deployant buckle. Included in the sale are the box and guarantee card.
